Welcome back to our Instagram toolkit series, packed full of how to’s and quick tips that you need to know about to succeed on Instagram. Today, let’s talk posting times! Just by using Instagram frequently, you might notice that when you post at certain times, you see more engagement than others, so there is clearly a correlation between the time you post and how successful that post is.
When is the Best Time to Post on Instagram?
Unfortunately there isn’t any ‘magical’ timeframe that means you’ll see the likes and comments roll in every single time. But, there are things you can do to determine when the best times to post are for you. The best time to post on Instagram is determined by when your followers are active. So, an influencer based in Japan will probably have a different best time and day to post than an influencer in the UK. This is because, if your followers are already on Instagram, they are more likely to see your post, Reel or Story pop up on their feed. But how do you know when your followers are the most active?
You can either try and determine this manually or by using an Instagram marketing tool. If you want to try and find out manually, you can make predictions based on where your followers are located, the popular times people tend to be on Instagram e.g. Thursday evenings, and which of your past posts were the most engaged with in relation to when you posted them.
Of course, this requires a lot of guesswork, and everyone’s followers won’t follow the same patterns. Another surefire way you can use to understand
the best time for you to post on Instagram is by using a tool that helps you along the way. For example, in
Flick’s Analytics Suite, we utilize your historical data on Instagram, to depict when your followers are online. Darker blue squares indicate your ‘sweet spots’ so you can adjust your posting schedule accordingly.
