Why use TikTok hashtags?
Now that you know what they are, why in the world should you use them? For plenty of reasons!
The main one though: It helps with your reach beyond just the people that follow you.
Hashtags are a great way for TikTok to know what kind of content you’re making and serve it to the right people who will actually want to engage with the content.
If you’re making cat content, tag the video with #cats and your video will be seen by people who freaking love cats and will likely engage with your video (it’s me—I am the cat person going to engage with your video).
Another thing users can do is follow a specific hashtag on TikTok and if you’re using that particular hashtag, you’ll end up on their feed.

What does FYP mean?
FYP on TikTok means “for you page.” It’s all the content that TikTok believes you’re interested in based on your likes and engagements on the app.

These are incredibly popular hashtags so we say use them with caution. As they have millions of views and videos on that hashtag, your content is likely to get lost in the crowd if you use it. But that’s not to say it won’t be seen by anyone, so use it sparingly and don’t expect instant results.
