Instagram announced today that all users will now have access to Instagram Link Stickers feature in Instagram Stories! Huzzah!
After getting rid of the swipe-up feature earlier last month, Instagram said that link sharing is helpful in many ways to accounts of all sizes and types, which is why they have opened up link stickers to all. In the past, link sharing was only offered for accounts with 10,000+ followers but after activists, smaller content creators and other accounts with smaller followings had to keep directing people to the link in their bio, instead of having a convenient IG Story link, Instagram finally listened to users outcries for links for all!
“We made this decision based on feedback we heard from the community about how impactful it would be for creators and businesses of all sizes to benefit from link sharing to grow in the same way larger accounts do,” Instagram said.
You can access the Instagram Link Stickers in the same way you access other stickers for your story. Click the sticker tool from the top of the navigation bar after you capture or upload content to your Story. After selecting the “Link Sticker,” you add your link and then tap “Done.” From there, you place the sticker anywhere you want and tap on it to see a variety of color options!
Previously, IG said they were cautiously rolling the feature out as they didn’t want misinformation and hate speech to be linked in users’ stories, so an important note is that any accounts sharing that will be blocked from using Link Stickers.
