How to create a Pinterest account
Creating a Personal Pinterest Account
- Go to pinterest.com
- In the top right corner of the page, click the âSign upâ button.
- Enter your email address
- Create a password
- Click the âCreate Accountâ button to create your Pinterest account.
- Pinterest will show you a list of popular interests. Select up to 10 interests that you are passionate about. This will help Pinterest tailor your feed to your interests.
- Pinterest will ask you for some information to complete your profile. This includes your name, location, and a brief description of yourself.
- Once your profile is complete, you can start saving pins to your boards. To save a pin, click on it and then click the âSaveâ button.
Creating a Business Pinterest Account
- Go to business.pinterest.com.
- In the top right corner of the page, click the âCreate accountâ button.
- Select the type of business you have from the drop-down menu.
- In the business name field, enter the name of your business.
- Select the category that best describes your business from the drop-down menu.
- In the website field, enter the URL of your business website.
- In the email field, enter your business email address.
- In the password field, create a strong password for your Pinterest business account.
- Click the âCreate accountâ button to create your Pinterest business account.
- Pinterest will ask you for some information to complete your business profile. This includes your business description, location, and website URL.
Convert your personal account into a business account
- Log in to your personal Pinterest account.
- Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select âSettingsâ from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the âAccount settingsâ tab.
- Under âAccount type,â select âConvert to Business Account.â

How to pin on Pinterest
Log in to Your Pinterest Account

Access the Create Pin Option
- Click on the â+â sign: On the top-right corner of your Pinterest home feed, youâll see a â+â sign. Click on it to reveal a dropdown menu.
- Select âCreate Pinâ: In the dropdown menu, choose the âCreate Pinâ option.
Add Your Pin Details
- Click on the image box to upload your image or video. Pinterest recommends a 2:3 aspect ratio for images and videos.
- Select the file from your computer.
- Enter a clear and concise title for your Pin. This should be engaging and descriptive.
- Write a compelling description. Use relevant keywords to improve the discoverability of your Pin.
- Include the URL where you want users to go when they click on your Pin. This could be a product page, blog post, or relevant link.
Choose a Board
- Select a Board: Choose the board where you want to save your Pin. You can select an existing board or create a new one.
- Add Section (Optional): If you have sections within your boards, you can choose a specific section for your Pin. This step is optional.
Advanced Settings (Optional)
- Add Alt Text: Include alternative text for your Pin to improve accessibility. This is especially important for users with visual impairments.
- Publish to Social Media (Optional): If you want to share your Pin on connected social media accounts, toggle on the relevant options.
Save Your Pin
- Save Draft or Publish: Choose to save your Pin as a draft if you want to come back and edit it later. If your Pin is ready to go, click on âPublish.â
Review and Edit (Optional)
- After publishing, you can click on the Pin to make additional edits or changes if needed. You can also share your Pin with other boards or even group boards you belong to.

How to create a board on Pinterest
Access the Boards Section
- Home Feed:
Upon logging in, youâll be directed to your home feed. Look for the â+â sign at the top right corner of the page. - Profile:
Alternatively, you can go to your profile by clicking on your profile picture at the top of the page and then select âBoards.â
Click on âCreate Boardâ
- Using the â+â Sign:
- Click on the â+â sign to open a dropdown menu.

- On the âBoardsâ Page:

- Write out a short bio that has specific keywords you want people to find you under. If you sell sustainable fashion, be sure to use keywords like âsustainable,â ânatural materials,â âenvironmental-friendly clothingâ etc.
