With all hell breaking loose last week on Instagram and Instagram announcing it wasn’t going to move forward with its TikTok-style redesign, a lot of people are shouting in the DMs and comments of the Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri’s account:
- “HOW DO WE GET OUR FEED TO SHOW US CONTENT WE WANT AND NOT SUGGESTED CONTENT?”
- “WE WANT CHRONOLOGICAL FEED!”
- “BRING BACK OLD INSTAGRAM!”
Well, folks, you can get rid of recommended posts, have a chronological feed, and all the perks of old Instagram with its new look. Yes, it’s possible and has been possible for a while now. Here’s how to get rid of suggested posts on your Instagram feed and get a chronological feed.
How to remove suggested posts on Instagram
This is a big one for a lot of people. With the new changes over at Instagram, it seems like our feeds have steadily filled up with more and more suggested posts from people that we don’t know … and honestly don’t want content from.
So how in the world do you remove this? Easy! Whenever you see a recommended post (which is usually followed by a long explanation on why you were recommended the post:
- Tap the X in the upper right corner.
- 4 options will pop up after you X to ask you for feedback about the post
- Click “Snooze all suggested posts in feed for 30 days”
And that’s it! For the next month, you won’t see any suggested content in your feed and will only see content from people you follow (and the occasional ad here and there).
How to get a chronological feed on Instagram
Another thing people keep shouting about is getting their chronological feed back on Instagram. Well, you have it, folks!
All you have to do is:
- Tap the Instagram logo on the top left-hand side.
- Click “Following”
And everything in there is in a chronological feed from your followers. You’re welcome.
